Mission Statement

We are a non-profit, Twin Cities-based sea kayaking club dedicated to exploring Lake Superior and other destinations around the Upper Midwest. We promote sea kayaking safety by providing classes, instruction and skill-building sessions. We depend upon member-volunteers to organize trips and teach classes.
Besides sea kayaking we offer fall hiking on the Minnesota North Shore and winter camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. We are in the planning stages for other outdoor adventures such as downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and scuba diving.

Membership Details
There are 2 types of membership available: individual or household.

Each member (everyone in a household membership!) must fill in and sign an SKOAC General Membership Wavier Form (PDF 101kb). Minors require a parent or guardian signature.
Please note: the form is in pdf format which requires Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free download, to view and print these files.
Write a check for annual membership dues.

What is included in SKOAC membership:

Participation in club activities and trips. Some events such as pool sessions may require an extra fee. Club trips are rated for different skill levels and participants must meet these skill requirements to go on trips.
